About
the necklaces
I
use several
methods to create my necklaces.
The pendants on the necklaces are cast or fabricated in sterling
or fine silver. I add color with glass enamel fired in a kiln.
I make the chains by hand. They incorporate cast elements,
enameled copper tubing or woven links. These elements are joined with
sterling or fine silver wire.
About
the pendants
The
colorful pendants are made by firing enamel between fine silver wires
on disks of pure silver. This technique is called cloisonne`. The enameled
disks are set in sterling silver on hammered copper.
My garden serves as the starting point for the sterling silver
leaf pendants. I pick real leaves and cast them to make these pendants.
They are darkened with liver of sulfur to emphasize the veins.
